Subject:          Leave policy for Visiting Faculty on limited-time basis in the Institute

On the recommendations of Institute Standing Committee in its meeting held on 25.06.2015, the Chairman, BoG has been pleased to approve the following Leave policy for Visiting Faculty serving the Institute on limited-time basis w.e.f. 1/1/2015:

1. He/she will be paid for Saturdays, Sundays and Institute holidays during each period of service
2. He/She will be entitled to 2.5 days of leave for each 4-week period of continuous service. No other leave is admissible
3. Each 1 day of leave taken during the faculty vacation period will count as ½ day
4. If the Visiting Faculty does not avail the leave or balance of the leave, he/she will be treated on duty for the un-utilized leave period and entitled for salary for such period, provided he/she rejoins the Institute subsequently
5. Un-availed leave will lapse at the end of the calendar year
6. In exceptional circumstances, the Director is authorized to approve additional leave.
