Subject:      Introduction of new B.Tech. (Honors) programme.

On the recommendations of the Senate in its 10th meeting held on 29th June, 2016 vide item no. 10.7, the Board of Governors, IIT Mandi in its 15th meeting held on 22.08.2016 vide its Resolution No. BG/15.2.1/2016 has approved introduction of new B.Tech. (Honors) programme in all the branches of Technology with the following eligibility criteria:

1. A student may opt for B.Tech. (Honors) programme if she/he has CGPA of 8.5 or more and no ‘F’ grade till fourth or fifth semester.
2. For B. Tech (Honors), a student needs to earn additional 12 credits (over and above the required 160 credits for B. Tech degree) relevant to her/his discipline as recommended by the faculty advisor.
3. Student should do MTP compulsorily and obtain a grade of ‘B’ or above in both the 7th and 8th Semesters.
4. Student should not have received ‘F’ grade throughout the B.Tech. program.
5. Student should secure an overall CGPA of 8.5 or more out of 172 credits (160+12).

An opportunity shall be given to B.Tech. 2013 batch students to opt for B. Tech (Honors) if they wish to do so.

The Associate Dean (Courses) has been authorized to approve the applications of the students opting for the B.Tech. (Honors) programme.

The Dean (Academics), IIT Mandi is requested to take note of the above.
