On the recommendations of the Deans Committee in its meeting held on 10.01.2018 vide item no. 01, the Competent Authority has approved the following w. r. t. quorum of the Committee meetings:

Every Committee has a quorum and it can take decisions as long as the quorum is present.  In some Committees, the quorum is specified.  If quorum is not specified, the default is 3 persons present including the Chair or 1/2 of the total size, whichever is larger.

In case too many members are on leave so that a quorum is not possible and the matter(s) cannot wait until they return, the Chair may co-opt replacement member(s).

In case the Chair is on leave, s/he should nominate a replacement Chair with the approval of the person to whom s/he reports.

The approved Minutes should be circulated for information only to all members present and absent.
