The Board of Governors in its 11th meeting held on 13.03.2015 vide its Resolution No. BG/11.2.6/2015 authorized the Director, IIT Mandi to decide the utilization of Corpus Fund and Donations received from various sources. The funds will be utilized for the following activities;

1. Corpus Fund:
   1. Attending academic and extracurricular conferences and activities in India and abroad
   2. Promotion of Technological innovative ideas
   3. Exhibiting student skills as innovators to the industries and research Institutions
   4. To enhance IIT Mandi brand image as hub of innovation and talent
   5. To supplement research grants received by faculty from sponsoring agencies and industries
2. Donations:
   1. Specific purpose as per the donors’ wishes
   2. In case the donor has not specified any purpose, the funds can be utilized as mentioned above for the corpus fund

The Board also advised to submit a proposal to MHRD for creating a corpus as recommended by the Kakodkar Committee Report. The internal income of the Institute may be parked in the corpus annually for some number of years to provide a good base to the Corpus account of the Institute.

The Dean (F&A) and Finance & Accounts Officer, IIT mandi are requested to take note of the above and initiate further necessary action at their end.
