Title: Notification regarding modification in credit distribution for the internship

The Senate in its 45th meeting held on January 12, 2025, vide Item No. 45.4.1 (i) has approved the modification for credit assignment for internships.
- 8th Semester on-site internships: With the increasing demand and need from the industry, for onsite internships (staying out of campus) during the 8th semester. The companies feel that this will give a continued association with the selected students and give students also a good exposure to companies, profiles, and working culture. While details are requested to present in the next senate on the internship offers statistics, the current 8th-semester students can place their request through the proper channels and request Dean Academics for special approval.
- Online internship credits: According to the last Senate meeting, the online internship was approved with 6 credits with the option of registering for 9 credit additional courses during the internship period. However, the students of the same batch who completed their internships in earlier semesters got 9 credits. The companies extended the offer in the 8th semester could not bring disparity in the credits for the same batch/class. Hence revising the internship credits to 6 to be effective from the 2022 batch and retain the 9 credits for the 2021 who already credited the online internship last semester.
- The provision of online 06 credits will be made applicable w.e.f. B.Tech. 2022 Batch onwards.
