Title: Office Order regarding Leave policy for Outsourced Staff
OFFICE ORDER
Competent Authority of the Institute has been please to determine the leave entitlements in respect of manpower on outsourcing at IIT Mandi subject to the following:
- These leave rules shall be applicable to all employees hired on outsourced through outside agencies.
- They shall be deployed for the duties during normal working hours six days a week with Sunday as holiday along with other employees of the Institute except otherwise there is a need to deploy them for duties on Sundays for which one weekly off will be granted.
- The leave will never be claimed as a matter of right and the work should never be got hampered because of grant of leave.
- Head of the department will have discretion to utilize the manpower for duties beyond normal working hours for which no overtime will be paid or no compensatory leave will be granted.
- Their leave entitlement will start on first day of the calendar year and end on last day of the year subjected to grant of leave on pro-rata basis. However, in exception circumstances. Head of Section may grant the leave entitled during the current calendar year. If granted in excess and the person leaves the services of the Institute in between of the year, his final dues will be cleared accordingly deducting the amount of salary paid for excess leave days.
- They shall be entitled to avail all gazette holidays declared by the Institute.
- They shall be entitled to avail 08 days Casual Leave granted not more than three days at a time except in case of- sickness. In case of C/L granted more than 03 days to be supported with Medical Certificate obtained from a qualified medical practitioner.
- They shall be granted 07 days leave on the pattern of Earned Leave which cannot be carried forward for accumulation and will lapse at the end of every calendar year.
- In case of a female worker, maternity leave for any number of days not exceeding twelve weeks provided replacement of the worker is provided by the outsourcing agency. Salary of the replacing worker will be paid for actual number of working days only.
- Leave records shall be maintained with respective Head of Sections and representative of the agency (Supervisor).
- Director, IIT Mandi will have the power to alter, modify change or relax any of the norms cited above.
These rules shall be applicable with immediate effect.
