Reg: Organizing various events in view of Y20 (G20) Campaign.

G20 is one of the biggest international collaborations of top 20 economies of the world and this year India is the host country for all of the events of G20. In order to ensure the contribution of the young generation of the country, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has started a college/university level campaign namely Y20 (Youth 20).

The Y20 is an official engagement group of the G20, composed of young leaders from the G20 countries. Y20 India will act as a platform for dialogue and negotiations among young leaders in India and around the world, who will come together to address the challenges facing our generation and strive to make a positive impact on the world. The Themes of Y20 India are: 

i).Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century Skills 

ii).Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction: Making Sustainability a Way of Life

iii).Shared Future: Youth in Democracy and Governance 

iv).Health, Wellbeing & Sports: Agenda for Youth 

v).Peace-building and Reconciliation: Ushering in an Era of No War

Working on the Ministry guidelines, IIT Mandi aims to make its contribution for the success of the campaign. This campaign requires active contribution from the students.

The ideas to organize events may range from academic to extra co-curricular activities and can be proliferated from any of the old events already organized in the institute. If you have any idea or want to contribute, you can share through the students’ General/Hostel/Research or SCRI Secretaries.

Also there are guidelines to display the G20 logo in the events/activities to make more and more people aware of India’s hosting status of G20 events. Therefore, actively contribute to make this campaign a success.
