OFFICE MEMORANDUM
On the recommendation of the duly empowered committee, the Competent Authority of the Institute has approved the following provisions for outsourced manpower hired through the outsourcing agency at the Institute.
1. All outsourced manpower at the Institute is linked to the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 and subsequent amendment/order issued by the Govt. of India from time to time. Their wages may be enhanced automatically in future with intimation by the agency to the Institute on receipt of an order from the GoI, Ministry of Labour & Employment, New Delhi.
2. Outsourced deployed manpower presently drawing more wages than payable under the Minimum Wages Act would continue to draw wages at the same rate till they come at par with the wages prescribed under the Minimum Wages Act.
3. Working days for outsourced manpower will be regulated as per the Minimum Wages Act and prevailing norms of Govt. of India.
4. One weekly off only is allowable to the outsourced manpower linked to the Minimum Wages Act. To be eligible for a weekly off, outsourced manpower should work at least six days. The National Holidays will be paid holidays. The employer may fix any other day of the week as the rest day for any outsourced manpower or class of manpower in case duty rosters are implemented.
This issued with the approval of the Director, IIT Mandi and supersedes Notification No. IIT Mandi/Admn/RS-78/2016/7463-71, dated 10th November 2016 & other orders issued separately on the subject matter.
