Subject: Amendments in Guidelines related to Fines.

In continuation to Notification No. IITMandi/Students/Hostel/2022-23/267 dated 12.01.2023, the following additional guidelines related to fines have been approved by the Competent Authority under point 4 (violation of Hostel Rules) of the said notification:

Additional Important points to be followed by the Boarders:

• Fines for Unauthorized Items: Any unauthorized electrical equipment found in possession of hostel residents will be confiscated by the hostel administration.

• Hot Water Kettles: Hostel administration will no longer provide kettles. Students may keep their own kettles on payment basis as per existing provisions.

• Permitted Appliances: Hair dryers and hair straighteners of nominal power rating are allowed for personal use.

• Prohibited Appliances: Egg boilers, blowers, heaters, handheld fans, induction stoves, table fans, or any other unauthorized electrical appliances are strictly prohibited.

• Conditional Use of Heaters/Blowers: Heaters/blowers of nominal voltage will be allowed only after notification from this office and payment of charges fixed by the Institute.

No relief will be provided on any of the above mentioned disciplinary actions and every boarder will be required to follow them once imposed.
