Revised guidelines for Merit-cum-Means (McM) Scholarship for General/OBC students & Institute SC/ST Scholarship
The competent authority has approved the following revised guidelines for the Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship for General/OBC students and the Institute SC/ST Scholarship.
I) Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship for General/OBC students
This scholarship is granted to top 25% students in the programs:-

The scholarship will be paid after completion of 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th semester, on the recommendations of duly constituted committee, based on the results and other relevant records pertaining to income etc. |

M.Sc. and M.A. |
a) A sum equivalent to the tuition fee paid in 2nd semester plus Rs. 5,000/- lumpsum shall be given as MCM scholarship after completion of 2nd semester. b) A sum equivalent to the tuition fee paid in 3rd and 4th semester plus Rs. 20,000/- lumpsum shall be given as MCM scholarship after completion of 4th semester. |

The scholarship will be paid after completion of 2nd and 4th semester, on the recommendations of duly constituted committee, based on the results and other relevant records pertaining to income etc. |

II) Institute Scholarship for SC/ST Category Students

M.Sc. and M.A. |
Amount of Rs. 61,000/- (in lieu of Free boarding/lodging and stipend) will be paid as MCM scholarship.

|
An amount of Rs. 3000/-per year reimbursed towards expenses for stationery and books. The bills for the expenditure incurred are required to be produced for reimbursement. |

|
|
The scholarship will be paid after completion of 2nd and 4th semester, on the recommendations of duly constituted committee, based on relevant records pertaining to income etc. Reimbursement will be made against bills. |

|
Other general terms and conditions:
1)CGPA and SGPA must be 6.00 or more (This condition does not apply to SC/ST applicants).
2)For B.Tech. 1st Year, the criterion of merit would be All India Rank in the JEE Advanced (For McM Scholarship).
3)The student should have passed all previous examination and should not have any backlog or F grades pending.
4)Earned credits should not less than 18 times the number of semesters registered for UG programme applying (For McM Scholarship).
5)Gross family income for all must be upto Rs. 4.5 Lakhs per annum.
6)The student must have not been subject to any kind of disciplinary action or penalty. Scholarship will not be awarded even if the pending action or pending dues has been cleared/completed later.
7)During the tenure of the scholarship, the scholarship holder shall not ordinarily receive any other scholarship, stipend, financial assistance or remuneration, for any work, except when provided in the rules specifically.
8)The scholarship is liable to be withdrawn, partially or wholly, in case of misconduct, concealment of material facts, supplying of false information and/or continued absence for more than a month except on approved medical grounds.
9)Students leaving the institute on their own accord without completing the program of study may be required to refund the amount of scholarship received.
Procedure for submission of applications:
A) Academics office will issue an intimation for inviting the applications.
B) The students are required to submit the self-attested documents to the Academic Section before the due date mentioned in the intimation email.
C) Valid Family Income Certificate (issued on or after 01st April, of relevant FY by the authorized officials in Revenue Dept./SDM/DC/Tehsildar etc.,), guidelines regarding Income Certificate- https://cloud.iitmandi.ac.in/f/4c5dc632d9334345aeb5/ (revised annually).

E)General conditions for income certificate and other documents required:-
a) The income certificate submitted should be of an absolute value. The income certificate of a range like Rs. 2,50,000/- to Rs. 5,00,000/- will not be considered in any case.
b) The income certificate should be issued on or after 1st April, of the relevant FY by the authorized officials in Revenue Dept/SDM/DC/Tehsildar, etc. Income Certificate issued by Gram Panchayat, Municipality or signed by Notary/Oath Commissioner will not be accepted.
c) Category Certificate, as applicable. For OBC applicants, the certificate , must be valid for the relevant FY.
d) Previous 2 semester Grade reports, if applicable, duly verified by academic’s office (if original not issued, download from Samarth)
e) AIR Rank Card (First Year UG students)
f) Any other additional requirement may be notified accordingly.
