NOTIFICATION

Subject: Regarding Honorarium for Extension Activities.

In supersession of notification no. IITM/DSRIC/02/2015/12-03 dated 01.12.2015, the Competent Authority on the recommendation of Dean (SRIC) has approved the following related to the Honorarium for extension activities:

1. External experts:

The honorarium to external experts revised to Rs. 5,000/- per sitting maximum of two sitting in a day in one particular conference/workshop/symposium. In case of payment for more than two sitting in a day under special circumstances, Dean (SRIC& IR) will be the Competent Authority to approve on the recommendations of the PI.

        2. Internal experts:

Generally Institute provides partial financial supports to help faculty to organize workshop and conferences and, to meet the initial expenses. The faculties are expected to raise sufficient funds from sponsors to meet the conference/workshop expenses and to return the amount received from the Institute at the end of the conference/workshop.

Payment of honorarium to internal experts will be considered only if there is any excess fund available after returning the equal amount of money to the Institute which is received in the beginning to meet the initial expenses. However, 20% of the excess money will go to Institute as overhead and 40% will go to the PDF of the organizers. Rest 40% will be considered for paying honorarium to the internal experts. The norms for payment of honorarium will be similar to external experts as mentioned above.

Other staff/students who have contributed beyond the call of duty may also be given honoraria.
