Committee constitution by Dean (Academics)
- Associate Dean (Courses) (Chair)
- Up to 4 instructors (for floated courses) of large classes of IC/DC (Sl.No. 1, 4 & 5). Max. one member from each school. It is expected that only 5-10 courses need intervention from AD courses.
- Chair of the Centres/Nominee.
Guidelines for allotment of TA:
- TA can be assigned as 1 TA /30-40 students (for 3-credit lecture based whereas 1 TA/10-20 students for lab/tutorial-based courses) in a class. For other credits, TAs are allotted on a pro rata basis.
- Student can only be assigned as a TA under his/her PhD/M.Tech/I-PhD supervisor (under Sl.No. 1, 2, 4 and 5). However, if there are more than 3 students under a faculty, one student may be allotted to Supervisor. It can be relaxed with special approval from Dean (Academics) after providing proper justification.
- There can be maximum 70% TAs allotment of same discipline/expertise related to the floated course (Sl.No. 1, 4 & 5). Among those Ph.D. and M.Tech./M.Tech (R) should be done in proportionately to the respective schools.
- Spare TAs can be shared to other Schools/Centres/and other institute units towards 100 % allotment of the scholars.
- Wherever possible, repetition of TAs for same courses may be avoided.
- AD(Courses) can also call School/Center Chairs as special invitee.
Execution plan:
- IC course instructors will be given access to a TA list in the first phase via OAS, and they will be asked to indicate their choices. The list will be finalized after being reviewed by the Associate Dean (Courses) committee taking into account guidelines 1-4. Following that, the assigned TAs will be removed from the master list made available for the schools.
- In second phase, School/Centre chair will nominate a committee in every semester or over a period, and remaining TAs will be allotted keeping in mind the guidelines 1-5.
- Remaining TAs list from each school/Centre will be shared with Associate Dean (Courses) committee for the allotment of Sl.No.3.

In case of any issue at any level, Associate Dean (Courses) or Dean (Academics) will intervene as the case maybe.
