                                                 (Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Part-time and ERP Ph.D./M.Tech (R) scholars)

The Institute Standing Committee (ISC) in its meeting held on 13th April, 2023 vide agenda item no. 17 approved the proposal for Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Part-Time & ERP Ph.D./M.Tech (R) scholars.

Following guidelines shall be applicable for the candidates who are either IIT Mandi employee or are involved in full time teaching in any academic institutions at the time of admission:

Financial Support

Tuition fee will be waived off under the Merit-cum-Means scheme.

Merit Criteria

The eligible students will be considered for award of MCM in the first semester.

Eligibility (only for those who were directly enrolled as Part Time or EPR scholars)

1. For Renewal

To be considered eligible for fellowship renewal, the scholar must fullfil the following conditions:

a. The Scholar must obtain an overall CGPA of 7.5 or above in every previous semester while undertaking coursework.

b. Doctoral Committee (DC)/APC meeting should be conducted every semester for research evaluation and the scholar must receive a performance mark with a grade of “Good” or above to continue the scholarship in the subsequent semester.

2. Means Criteria (for fresh and renewal)

Gross family income should not exceed 8 lakhs in preceding financial year.

3. Duration of the scheme

This scholarship is only available for 2.5 years (M.Tech (R)) and 5 years (Ph.D.) durations.

Part-time & ERP Ph.D./M.Tech (R) scholars can apply for this scholarship from Academic Year 2023-24 onwards.
