NOTIFICATION
(Guidelines for existing students of IIT Mandi for payment of Institute academic fee/Semester Registration/Submission of Income Certificates etc.)
Consequent to the approval of Competent Authority of IIT Mandi, all existing students should follow the below guidelines for submission of Academic fees, registration for upcoming semester and to submit income certificates for the purpose of availing scholarship/exemption in fees etc.
1. Deadlines for academic fees submission:
The existing students need to pay the Academic fees as per the following standard deadlines:

In case of any delay in link activation at the beginning, the last date for submission of fees will remain as above. After 05th Jan/15th July, non-payment of fees will lead to termination from the respective programme. |

2. Guidelines on Income Certificates:
a. Last date to submit Income certificate (and/or Affidavit, if applicable) for availing any remission, concession, or financial benefit for subsequent Academic Year till the final semester, will be 30th April of every Financial Year. After that, no request will be entertained for any kind of financial assistance process.
b. Certificate should be issued on or after 1st April every Financial Year and valid up to 31st March of the subsequent Year. For example: For the family income during financial year 2023-24, the Income Certificate should be issued between 01 April -30 April 2024 and it should be valid for one year i.e. till 31 Mar 2025.
c. Income Certificate, if issued for a longer duration (more than one financial year) will be considered valid for that one year only (first year of issue) for which it is presented. Next year, a fresh income certificate should be submitted.
d. Income Certificate, if issued for a shorter duration (less than one financial year) will be considered valid for the specific period only. The same should be supported with another certificate valid for the rest of the continuous part of that financial year.
e. Income Certificate should be issued for an absolute value (not range) and supported with affidavit as per IIT Mandi format bearing the exact amount as per income Certificate.
f. Income Certificate must be issued by the authority, not below the rank of Naib Tehsildar. Certificate signed by any other junior officer/ official shall not be acceptable.
g. Income Certificate should bear the following information:
i) Name of Father of the applicant student.
ii) Name of student.
iii) Complete residential address.
iv) Family Income from all sources.
3. MCM and other Scholarship/Fellowships:
a. Mere submission of application for any MCM or other kind of scholarship or financial assistance should not be considered as approved unless it is specifically approved by the competent authority and formally notified. The students are required to pay the full Academic fee as applicable within the deadline. However, on grant of the scholarship he/she may apply for refund/adjustment as the case may be.
b. There will be no linkage between release of Scholarship/Fellowship and the Academic fee payment. Both are independent events and the requisite fees should be paid within deadlines.
c. In case of non-payment of Academic fees, the student will not be permitted to register for the next upcoming semester. The pre-registration done by the defaulter student will be treated as cancelled.
d. Non-payment of Academic fees will lead to suspension by Dean Academics and subsequent termination/cancellation of the registration upon the approval of the Chairman Senate as per norms of the Institute without any further notice.
e. Every student whose registration is in force even if he/she is away from the Campus due to any reason whatsoever like internship/ conference/ semester exchange/ Field Trip/medical issues etc. has to pay the full Academic fee within the deadlines as applicable.
f. Students permitted for Semester Break, Maternity Leave, Temporary Withdrawal, etc. from the programme for one or more semesters are required to pay the applicable continuation fee per semester.
g. The students who submitted the thesis should pay the Continuation fee per semester as applicable till defense.
h. If thesis is submitted after the start of semester within the permitted time for exemption of semester fee, the student may request for refund/adjustment. However, the full fee should have been paid previously within permitted deadlines.
There is no provision for payment of fees in instalments, exemption of fee or late payment of fee etc. Only very rare and genuine cases may be permitted on the prior approval of the Chairman Senate. However, the permission should be obtained before the last date of fee submission.
