Payment of HTRA/DST Inspire Fellowship to Ph.D. Scholars at revised rates
In pursuance of MHRD letter No. F.No.34-2/2018 TS.1 dated 05-02-2019 and Ministry of Science & Technology, DST letter No. SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30.01.2019 regarding Revision of Fellowship for the research personnel engaged in R&D programme of the Central Government Departments, the Director of IIT Mandi is pleased to approved to implement the revision in the rates of Fellowship/Scholarship as follows.
These revised rates of fellowship/scholarship are applicable from 1st January, 2019.

Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following: a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE. b. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, MHRD, IIT etc. |

- In accordance with the directives received from MHRD and DST, the Director of the institute has approved adoption of the above revision for implementation of the same in the Institute for payment of fellowship to the PhD research scholars, who are eligible and receiving/ would be claiming the funds from these agencies.
- External assessment may be done for JRF to SRF conversion. Subject expert may be nominated from other schools/institutions. In case of examiner from other institution, assessment through video conferencing/emails may be preferred.
Attention of the scholars is drawn that the conversion from JRF to SRF will be only after ‘successful’ performance review. All such research scholars should follow the guidelines of the respective funding agency also (as mentioned in the Sanction letters/Notifications/OMs issued/revised from time to time).
This is issued with the prior approval of the competent authority.
