NOTIFICATION
(Online Courses consider for various Degree Programs)
The Senate in its 22nd meeting held on 27th June, 2019 vide item no. 22.5 has considered and approved the proposal to consider online courses for various degree programs as mentioned below:
1. Maximum permissible number of courses through NPTEL/other such courses:

2. Process:
- Before the start of the semester, student should take permission from Faculty Advisor and Course Coordinator in the case of S.No. 1 and 2 mentioned above. For S.No.3, permission from APC/DC committee should be taken. Final approval will be made by AD (Courses) and record of such registrations will be maintained at Academics Section.
- The credits earned through such courses can appear on the transcript. For this, students must submit the necessary documents and completion certificate at Academics Section through FA/Research Guide.
- It should be ensured that these courses are not in the list of courses being regularly offered/taught at the Institute.
- No financial and logistic support will be extended to the student(s) from the Institute for attending such courses/examinations etc.
- Maximum number of credits registered for courses including NPTEL course(s) in a semester will be subject to the applicable institute norms.
3. Mapping of such courses to IIT Mandi credit system: The NPTEL certificate generally mentions the number of credits of a course. It is similar to IIT Mandi credit system and hence the same can be adopted.
4. Mapping with IIT Mandi grade system: These courses can appear as Pass/Fail courses on the transcript and will not be counted towards the overall credit requirement of the program and for CGPA calculation.
