NOTIFICATION

                                   (To consider modification in the degree requirement for Integrated Ph.D. (Physics) programme)

The Senate in its 32nd meeting held on 22nd September, 2021, vide item no. 32.4 discussed the proposal regarding modification in the degree requirement for Integrated Ph.D. (Physics) programme as approved in its 10th meeting held on 29th June 2016 and resolved the following:

1. The students enrolled in the I-PhD (Physics) program, who joined upto 2019 need to complete the course work comprising total 89 credits with a minimum CGPA of 7.0 along with the thesis work to fulfill the requirements for the I-PhD program. For the 2020 batch onwards, the Program Faculty Group of 1-PhD shall revisit the minimum CGPA requirement and submit revised proposal/comprehensive norms to the Senate. This will supersede any previous clause regarding the credit and CGPA requirement for the program.
2. The I-PhD students would be awarded a single transcript and two separate degrees i.e. (a) Master of Science in Physics, (b) Doctor of Philosophy.
