Revision of Teacher Course Feedback (TCF) and Class Committee Meeting CCM
On the recommendations of the Board of Academics (BoA), the Senate in its 37th meeting held on 7th October, 2022, vide item No. 37.3 discussed the proposal of revision in Teacher Course Feedback (TCF) and Class Committee Meeting (CCM). After detailed deliberation, the Senate resolved to approve the proposal, as placed below:
- There will be no interim CCMs, only final CCM will be conducted for grade finalization.
- Instead of interim CCM, there will be one TCF before mid-semester. Final TCF, will continue as per current practice.
- TCF questions will be different for lab courses, theory courses and mixed courses.
- The calculations of TCF for theory and tutorial courses will be statistical, based on two-level significance tests.
- Lab TCF will be more non-statistical and will be summarizing the feedback in pie-charts.
- Instead of comparing individual rating with the institute average, it will be now more statistically robust and will be based on class size.
- Students with a minimum attendance of 70% only are eligible for submitting TCF. Exceptions, if any, may be decided by Instructors.
- Pi-chart will be generated for mid-term assessment and will be available to faculty immediately.
- Final TCF will be collected preferably on hardcopy via other colleagues (nominated by school chairs/AD Courses in case of School Chair is the instructor).
Courses are divided into three categories for estimation of institute average and
- Feedback sizes ≥ 100
- Feedback sizes ≥30 <100
- Feedback sizes >5 and <30
The above mentioned modification will be effective from the 2022 enrolled B.Tech. students.
(Implementation for other programmes/batches will be announced later)
