NOTIFICATION

The Senate in its 48^th meeting held on March 15 & 16, 2026, vide Item No. 48.3.17, has approved the proposal for NCC Air Wing activities at IIT Mandi.

The Senate resolved to approve the following:

1.    Inclusion of NCC in Extra-Co-Curricular activities: As per the ordinance of IIT Mandi, every new student has to participate in one of three extra co-curricular activities. NCC activities may be included as a co-curricular activity, and students enrolled in NCC may be exempted from the requirement of participation in other related co-curricular activities.

2.   Attendance Relaxation: As students of NCC will continue to take part in NCC activities, relaxation to the extent of 10% is proposed to all NCC students. This shall neither be applicable for routine on-campus NCC activities nor this shall be an absolute blanket relaxation. Such relaxation will be provided only when a student is off-campus for any NCC activity or any major on-campus activity like a parade, special on-campus NCC sessions etc. The OIC, NCC may be authorized to issue a letter/certificate to participating NCC students, which can be produced to the course instructor to claim relaxation.
