NOTIFICATION
(Revision in Early Induction of M.Tech. (R)/Ph.D. programme for Young Researchers)
The Senate in its 39th meeting held on 25th April, 2023, vide item no. 39.12 discussed the proposal for revision in Early Induction of M.Tech. (R)/Ph.D. programme for Young Researchers.
After detailed discussion, the Senate approved the following:
During the first ad-hoc senate meeting held on April 2nd, 2011, a proposal was agreed upon to allow for the early admission of BTech/Masters students from other universities into MS/PhD programs. It was determined that the specific rules and regulations for this policy would be developed by the Dean (Academics).
In the 39th Senate, it was recommended to
- revise the MS program to include MTech(R)/ MS(R)/ MA(R).
- The universities mentioned in the original proposal as partnering institutions may be replaced by universities ranked within the top 100 in the NIRF for the corresponding year of admission. NIRF Ranking (within top 100) should be in overall category granted for the year during which admission is sought.
The detailed rules and regulations for this revised program will be developed and presented at a later Senate meeting.
