On the recommendations of the Deans Committee in its meeting held on 18.10.2016, the Competent Authority has approved the following guidelines for Annual Performance Evaluation Process in respect of Faculty/Staff members at IIT Mandi:
1. For Group-A
The Supervisor will meet with the individual and then write his/her remarks on Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR). He/She will then submit it to the Reviewing Officer. The Reviewing Officer will review the APAR in presence of the employee along with a designated Committee consisting of the following:
a) Director or his nominee (Chair and Reviewing Officer)
b) Supervisor
c) Registrar or his nominee (any Dean in case of Registrar’s APAR)
2. For Group-‘B’ & ‘C’
The Supervisor will meet with the individual and then write his/her remarks on APAR. He/She will then submit it to the Reviewing Officer. The Reviewing Officer will review the APAR in presence of the employee along with a designated Committee consisting of the following:
a) Reviewing Officer (Chair)
b) Supervisor
c) Registrar/Dean (For Deans Offices) or nominee
3. For Faculty & Academic Staff:
The faculty member will submit the Self Appraisal Form (SAF) through Chairperson of School to Dean (Faculty). The Director will review the SAF with the Faculty member along with a designated Committee consisting of the following:
a) Director or his nominee (Chair)
b) Chairperson of respective School or his nominee in case the Chair is of lower rank than the faculty (Reporting Officer)
c) Dean (Academics or Faculty) or his nominee
d) Additional experts may be co-opt as required.
The APAR/SAF after Review will be communicated to the individual by Administration Section.
The above guidelines may please be followed scrupulously by all concerned.
